The lifestyle benefits of a wooden deck add considerable enjoyment, convenience and value to most homes.
If your proposed deck is less than 1.2 metres high, and has porous ground underneath you probably won't require a building consent. Otherwise you will most likely require a consent from your local council. Mr Fencer can advise you on requirements in your area, and can arrange necessary drawings and consents if needed.
Decks over 1.0 metre in height require a safety handrail. If privacy fencing is required around your deck, or you want to include an overhead pergola, normal height to boundary restrictions apply.
